Mudhoney do London, turn 20 |

Words: Plan B

To mark Mudhoney and Sub Pop’s vicennial – the grimy great-uncles of grunge and the influential Seattle label both turn 20 this year – the band will be gracing UK audiences with a visit to London, performing at Kentish Town’s Forum on July 31. The show will be one of only two scheduled European performances this year, the other being Storas Festival in Trondheim, Norway. Those sceptical about old-dude bands still plying their trade shoulda been at Mudhoney's last Forum show a few years ago - a thoroughly blistering set from a band still in fine fettle.
Meanwhile, Sub Pop will also be celebrating its anniversary in Redmond, Washington with the two day SP20 Festival (July 12-13) featuring an all-star line up including Mudhoney, Green River, The Vaselines, Foals, Wolf Parade, Iron And Wine, No Age, Pissed Jeans, Fleet Foxes, and Eric’s Trip among others.
2008 has seen the joint release of Mudhoney’s eighth studio album with Sub Pop, The Lucky Ones, as well as the re-release of a deluxe version of their seminal long-player, Superfuzz Bigmuff in celebration of turning 20.
Tickets for this one-off London show are still available on 0844 847 2405 or at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
