Various: I Love Techno Mixed by Dave Clarke (White Noise)
Words: John Doran

It’s six years now since the release of Dave ‘Don’t Ask Him Where The Five Are’ Clarke’s fist fuck of a double mix album World Service which demonstrated the black leather clad DJ’s obvious passion for techno and electro. He rose head and shoulders above many others in the field of second wavers because of his raw enthusiasm for his source materials (no matter how heavy or hard, his sets are always eminently dance floor suitable) and his verve as a gramophone technologist (he complements his mixing with Roland punishing enhancement). The minimalist wandering loops of Christian Smith and John Selway eventually give way to the satisfying acid belch of Public Energy’s ‘Three 0 Three’ and the party hearty electro of Detroit’s Own DJ Surgeon.
