How was your Sonar experience this year?
Last year we played live and it was incredible. We had never before played in front of so many people. It was a wonderful experience! This year it was completely different. We were booked as a DJ team and had basically been working on our current album Happy Birthday until the day before the set. So we directly switched from studio to main stage! The Beastie Boys had just finished and we started playing our records. There were some major technical problems had we had to improvise a lot! But people got their lighters out and we all had some really nice moments. How do you think touring for an electronic outfit such as yourself differs from being on the road as a rock band?
I think we take airplanes more often than a rock band, and our trousers are not as tight. But it’s a little bit easier for us because we don’t have as much equipment to schlep around, and we don’t have to sleep in the tour bus. What's your favourite way to travel when you're on the road?
Lufthansa! Where in the world do people party hardest?
Without hesitation: in Scotland! So you're playing at Acid On Sea in August. How are your sea legs?
I think we’ll be puking all over the place… And are you hoping your set will be "plain sailing"? (ahem)
Of course! You can put on your bathing trunks. Someone will definitely have to go overboard.
