The Envelopes - It Is The Law (Rex Records)

Summer is here, whether the goddamn weather systems of Planet Earth are ready or not! The Envelopes breeze into town like a happy slab of C86 Pavement, except made from clear plastic and inflated and let off into the air to float away on The Thermals. Audrey's vocals are delivered with a smile that you can hear, Henrik's with a sterling deadpan frown, but they tangle together aimiably and fall in a big heap of vocal arms and legs, with sunny guitar parts skidding over the sky like little white clouds. They tickle you with synth. They run guitars through your hair. Adorable.
