Doing the rounds on the blogs at the moment, an audio/visual mash-up of drum’n'bass stalwart Andy C and footage from American Baptist congregations. Hard to know if it’s just magic editing or if there’s some more profound linkage here?

There are so, so, so, so, so many questions raised by Busta’s new video. So many. Many, many. Like: is it good that Bling may be spurred by the recession to look beyond corporate America for its imagery? How much of this is in defiance of routine domestic demonisation of Arabic countries? That said, is Busta himself down with Arabic culture (outside of currency?) Including (since it gets a shout-out in the song) Saudi gender issues and morality laws? Really? (He does seem a little restrained by his standards…) Does hip-hop have an audience in Dubai, etc? Answers below, please.
Hello. How are you? It’s been a while, but I am currently sans laptop, and experiencing a very McLuhanite form of phantom limb syndrome. To ease myself back into the mindmeld, here is a video I’ve been meaning to post for a very long time. It’s Glass Candy performing on the French Riviera. I know, SOLD, right? Ida’s screaming again, which is good. Please spam the comment box below with ASCII applause.
From the recent Food 4 Da Brain compilation, a tantilising taste of what may come when Skinnyman’s inspired enough to finish his second album. Next year, hopefully. Please?
